Το BBC ανακοίνωσε τα 100 κορυφαία παιδικά βιβλία όλων των εποχών

Το BBC προσφέρει μια εξαιρετική υπηρεσία, συντάσσοντας μια λίστα με τα  «Τα κορυφαία 100 καλύτερα παιδικά βιβλία όλων των εποχών».  Μια τέτοια λίστα μας επιτρέπει να δώσουμε αξία σε ένα στοιχειώδες κομμάτι της παιδικής ηλικίας, την ανάγνωση βιβλίων. Επίσης, καθιερώνει ότι τα βιβλία για παιδιά, όπως αυτά για ενήλικες, αξίζουν να αξιολογούνται με βάση τις ιδιότητές τους και όχι με βάση άλλων κριτηρίων.

Για να δημιουργήσει τη λίστα, το BBC επελεξε μια λίστα με 1050 βιβλία και στη συνέχεια ζήτησε από 177 ειδικούς να ψηφίσουν. Οι ψηφοφόροι ήταν από πενήντα έξι χώρες. Εκατόν τριάντα τρεις ήταν γυναίκες, 41 ήταν άνδρες και τρεις ισχυρίστηκαν ότι δεν είχαν φύλο, ζητήθηκε από τον καθένα να παρουσιάσει το δικό του top 10, το Top 100 προήλθε από αυτές τις λίστες.
